Gretchen TeBockhorst, President/Founder
Gretchen TeBockhorst specializes in strategic public relations and revenue generating marketing plans. Prior to starting PRIM Communications, she was the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Richard Sandoval Restaurants. During her time at RSR, she took the 45-unit international restaurant group to new heights by formulating brand strategies, launching a retail line, redesigning 45 restaurant web pages, organizing nationally publicized events, launching the New Latin Flavors cookbook, securing Chef Richard Sandoval as the face of Nestle Abuelita Chocolate and devising a digital and social strategy for each restaurant. Her media relations efforts secured national attention from a variety of outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Food and Wine Magazine, Foodnetwork.com, TODAY Food, and CBS This Morning among others.
Gretchen has a B.A. from Colorado State University where she studied Journalism and Public Relations. She lives in Denver with her husband and three boys.
Ashley Dennison, Senior Account Manager
Over the last 10 years, Ashley has gained significant experience in media relations, account management, crisis communications, employee engagement, leader positioning and strategic content development. Prior to joining PRIM Communications as a Senior Account Manager she founded PR Pinch Hitter, an independent consultancy that supports communications teams across the country. Previously, Ashley served as Account Director for Reputation Partners, a top corporate and crisis communications firm in Chicago, where she directed strategy for Ernst & Young in the Midwest, and led a national internal communications assessment for Exelon. Ashley has also served as a Senior Communications Specialist for ComEd, the fourth largest electric utility in the U.S. Additionally, she has held meaningful roles at Chicago-based public affairs firm Jasculca Terman, the New Orleans public affairs office of the Army Corps of Engineers, prominent New York public relations firm Magrino, and the public relations department at Elizabeth Arden.
Ashley holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she specialized in strategic communication. She lives in Denver.
Larina Chen, Senior Account Manager
A native Houstonian coming from a family of restauranteurs and holding an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Cincinnati, Larina was naturally drawn to working with food & beverage. Her expertise spans over 15 years in the public relations and marketing field in various industries including; hospitality, private aviation, real estate, design, and lifestyle brands. She has spearheaded numerous projects including restaurant launches, full event production, brand awareness campaigns, and new programming initiatives while lending her expertise for consultation.
She has worked in conjunction with notable entities such as; BBVA Compass Bank, Four Seasons Hotels, Blo Blow Dry Bar, Lucky Strike Entertainment, Super Bowl LI, W Hotels, Perry Homes, Innovative Dining Group, Kartell, Molteni&C, Drai’s Night Club, Los Angeles Tourism Board, SBE Entertainment Group, and MillionAir.
To continually exercise her writing skills, Larina has also contributed to dozens of publications such as Haute Living Magazine, LAist, JuliB, Société Perrier, and Modern Luxury Media just to name a few. Often seen around town with a tall skinny mocha or a vodka martini, shaken never stirred.
Kelly Stoker, Account Manager
Kelly has roots in Texas but her adventurous side brought her to call Denver home. She has over six years of marketing experience and has spent the past fourteen years working in hospitality. Her background managing both operations and marketing gives her a unique approach to integrated marketing.
Kelly was previously the Senior Marketing Manager for the three multi-unit brands at Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, where she directed a wide variety of initiatives including brand messaging, digital strategy, local store marketing, photography and more. She has a B.A. from the University of North Texas where she studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
Kelly is a lifelong learner who enjoys adding to her personal and professional skill sets. She likes trying new restaurants and recipes, going to concerts, riding her bike, hiking and exploring on new adventures.
Lauren DeFilippo, Creative Manager
Lured away from New York City by a love of the outdoors, Lauren is a graphic designer and lifestyle photographer based in Denver. A graduate of Parsons, the New School for Design, her passion for paper, typography and printing led to opportunities in the design departments of Richard Sandoval Restaurants, AvroKo and Ceci New York.
Lauren has crafted branding, logo, illustration and marketing concepts for clients ranging from major restaurant groups to up-and-coming small businesses. Behind her designs is a photographer’s eye, and her time behind the camera is a never-ending source of inspiration. Lauren has shot it all—from action photography for fitness brands to engagement shoots. In recent years, she has focused her lens on food and dining, shooting for leading culinary brands like New York’s Institute for Culinary Education and Stumptown Coffee Roasters, as well as capturing features for publications like Life & Thyme and local publication, Fellow Magazine.
Amanda Carroo, Publicist
Amanda is a wandering spirit that has made Denver her home. She has over six years’ experience working in both public relations and digital marketing. Her expertise lies in creating comprehensive and strategic client outreach plans.
Previously, Amanda worked in fashion public relations in Los Angeles and is an expert in the digital marketing scene in Denver. Her experience in both fields helps to provide a unique perspective that aids in client strategy. Throughout her career, she has worked with some of the biggest names in fashion as well as local city favorites. She has a thirst for exploration and is always looking for new avenues to continually improve her skills. She lives with her husband and dog and can usually be found seeking out the latest restaurant opening, climbing a mountain, attending a yoga class – truly, the list doesn’t end.
